This weekend was a productive one between the rain storms. Saturday morning we bought some trees for our yard. We will be getting those in the next couple of days weather permitting. Saturday's soccer games were canceled so after family nap time we headed outside to put the basketball hoop together. While the kids were playing basketball we pruned the apple tree, it hadn't been done for years. We also got the garage swept out. Now if only it would dry out enough to mow the lawn. Sunday after church and Dunkin Donuts we headed home to get ready for the soccer games, only to find out that they had been postponed for 1 1/2 hours. Mark cut up some branches while I weeded the flower bed and worked in the house. After the games we headed to Chuck E. Cheese. The place was packed but the kids had a great time.
Kid Brags and Recaps:
Valynn's team had 6 players yesterday so she played the whole game. She likes to play defense so she played that position most of the game. Her team won by a couple of goals. She has about 5 weeks left of school.
Mason played against two of the neighbor boys yesterday. His team won as well and Mason scored three goals. The other team even had more players (preschool they let all the kids on the field instead of making some stand on the sidelines). Mason has 3 weeks of preschool left. We will be signing him up for Kindergarten in the next couple of weeks.
Kyra surprised me today by correctly identifying 16 out of 26 letters of the alphabet. I had resigned myself to the fact that she would be starting preschool not able to recognize her letters but I guess I was wrong, she'll know her letter by August. It also seems that her and Matthew (the neighbor boy her age) can't get enough of playing with each other, one can't be outside with out the other asking to go out and play.
Kyleigh wasn't all that impressed with Chuck E. Cheese, she took a nap. It seems that Collin (Matthew's brother who is 3 weeks older than Kyleigh) and Kyleigh like to teach each other new things. After a recent visit Kyleigh saw Collin pull himself to standing so now Kyleigh thinks she should stand. Kyleigh taught Collin how to talk. Collin wouldn't make much for sounds but after a few minutes with Kyleigh babbling his ear off, he now won't stop.
