It snowed.....again

We got another 3 inches of snow last night. Mason, Kyra, and I headed outside to play in it. Unfortunately it wasn't snowman making snow and the wind started to pick up so we didn't stay out too long.

We also got our family pictures back, click here to check them out

Kyra's 18 months

Kyra is 18 months today. Where does the time go? She communicates more everyday. She understands simple directions and likes to be my helper. She is starting to convey her desires, last night she woke up and when I went to see what was wrong she said "mom, dad, night night". I told her that she couldn't come sleep with us and she threw herself down in a tantrum in her crib. She then stood up and asked again, to which I replied no. She threw herself down again and went back to sleep. Yes, this also means she's starting the tantrum phase, which I laugh when she does it because she sticks her head on the ground and her butt in the air. I'll have her 18 months stats in a couple of weeks when she goes in for her check-up.

Valentine Box

As promised a picture of Valynn's Valentine Horse.

St. Louis

We had a wonderful weekend in St. Louis. On Saturday we took the kids swimming and then went to the City Museum. The kids played hard for 4 hours before we headed to the hotel to rest. The City Museum was huge and was essentially one big playground made of everything you can think of. They had caves to climb inside, tunnels, barrels, etc. Some places were so narrow I had trouble fitting through. That night we went to the Monster Trucks with our friends Chris, Sharon, and Alex. The kids are still talking about the trucks, which was their favorites, why they kept breaking down, and rolling over. On Sunday we went into the arch. The kids were asking to do this since we arrived. They could see the arch from our hotel room. The kids were sufficiently wore our from the weekend, they put on the miles. Today Valynn and Mason are off from school, unfortunately Mark still has class. The first 5 pictures are from the City Museum. The Dog Monster Truck was Valynn's favorite, Mason liked the Bat Man Monster Truck. The picture of Kyra in front of the teepee is from the arch. She saw some tourists taking their picture there and decided she wanted hers taken as well. The other pictures are taken in the top of the arch, you can see how small of a space it is. The last picture is of our hotel, we stayed in the shorter circular hotel on the left, the two towers are connected. Behind the hotel you can see Busch stadium.

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone has a great day. Our day started out with five deer in our yard. They kids thought it was great. Mason had his Valentine's Party yesterday and came home with more sugar that his body could process. Valynn has her party this afternoon so I'm headed in for that while Mason and Kyra hang out with the sitter. We finished Valynn's box and I'll post a picture of it soon. Here are photos that I've uploaded to an album.

Valentine's Party

Valynn hosted a Valentine's Party yesterday. The kids had fun decorating cookies, playing relay races, and finding the hidden Valentine's. They also were served cake that dad had to decorate. It was a busy weekend we finally got our family pictures taken on Saturday. Valynn had a Daisy Scout outing at Jump Start Gymnastics on Saturday as well. On Sunday we went to church and had Valynn's party. We've started to work on her Valentine's Box and hope to have that done tonight. Valynn, Mason, and Kyra are excited to share that they will have a baby brother or sister at the end of August!!

When is snows....

it snows. On Saturday we left for Minnesota. Valynn wanted to go to Chris's funeral until 10 minutes before it was time to go, she changed her mind, so we packed up the Suburban and headed north. The funeral was on Monday, the kids were good for me during mass since Mark was a pall bearer and wasn't sitting with us. We headed home yesterday, we hit snow around Waterloo and then rain around the Quad cities. Last night when we got home we found that our furnace wasn't working. We are currently waiting for the replacement part but are keeping warm with the wood burning stove and space heaters that we borrowed. We are getting hit with a storm today, about 2 inches of snow and lots of wind. Mark's classes were canceled tonight. Hopefully that's all the excitement in our lives for awhile.
